I am a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. I am currently the Chief Executive Officer of Philippou Auditors Ltd (www.philippouauditors.com), a boutique firm based in Cyprus offering audit, tax, accounting and payroll services. The mission of the firm is to simply "do things properly and ethically". I also hold a position on the Board of Directors of Minerva Insurance Public Company Ltd, a publicly listed company offering insurance services. Perhaps my most important professional attribute is my vast international experience, most notably in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Russia, Ukraine and Qatar. My flexibility and adjustability to different business environments and cultures is what has given me success over the years.During my 10+ year experience as a partner with major audit firms, I served many listed and / or high-profile clients, which require frequent interaction with the top-level management of clients as well as periodical reporting of results to clients’ boards of directors and audit committees. I was involved in audits of across all industries. Beyond performing statutory audit work, during the period I held the position of partner:• I served as the Risk Management Partner and Ethics and Independence Partner;• I supported the regional Audit Quality teams with my involvement as a practice reviewer; • I trained people, mainly on audit and accounting subjects; and• I was involved in the listing process of clients on stock exchanges.Being at the most senior positions of the audit profession, I developed strong leadership and human resource management abilities. As a Board member of the audit firms I served as a partner, I participated in strategic planning and long-term financial management. That continues as a member of the Board of the audit firm I recently set up, as well as a Board member of a publicly listed company that I currently serve. On the way of my professional development, I served proudly my country from the hard-won position of sub-lieutenant and worked in the hospitality industry before entering the accounting profession. In all my accomplishments, the cornerstone was always based on high ethical values and strong empathy towards my fellow counterparts.On a strictly personal level, I love my family and believe in God. I remain an active member with the football club that I support (APOEL).
