Management of Educational Specialists Our Graduation Success program works with high school youth in foster care, pairing them with a Treehouse Education Specialist who provides educational support and a connection to resources. Education Specialists also partner with the youth’s existing support system – caregivers, social workers, teachers and school counselors – to provide services they need when they need them.

Leadership and Support: Serve as interim Program Manager during extended absences of managers across all education programs. Lead team in consistent, accountable implementation of program models, practices, policies and procedures. Supervise staff and conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings. Serve as a peer mentor and provide advanced case consultation. Assist in managing waitlists for Graduation Success by crafting communications and ensuring referral information is accurate. Facilitate trainings for program staff in partnership with program managers and People & Culture. Partner with Program Managers to provide fidelity observations for program staff to ensure fidelity of the program models and create training and standardization strategies. Support program staff through informal observations to assist with skill development, program model implementation, and case consultations. Responsible for reviewing educational history and systematically evaluating educational needs of each youth on your caseload through regular interaction with youth, caregiver, social worker, school staff and other service providers. Responsible for establishing and monitoring progress on Student Centered Plan for High School completion and the future. Responsible for referring youth to appropriate resources to support education, social/emotional development. Partner with identified individuals/groups to help ensure each youth’s educational rights are upheld under federal and Washington State law. Responsible for scheduling and facilitating interagency meetings, negotiating services, facilitating transportation plans, assist with credit transfer or retrieval, negotiate disciplinary appeals. Responsible for managing effective working relationships at assigned school buildings with school personnel. Responsible for maintaining complete, accurate, and updated case records for each youth in the program’s database. Responsible for providing timely reports to social workers and caregivers.

Responsibilities also include creating programs for matches that are designed to help children be academically and socially successful, as well as strengthen families through face to face meetings and contact.
