My research aims to identify and analyze optimal environments and practices that facilitate a successful transition from traditional governance models to Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) or worker cooperatives. Through our current study, we’re gathering data to better understand the key educational requirements, operational processes, cultural practices, and leadership characteristics that are essential for a flourishing shared ownership business environment.

The Pursuits of Business for Good - Graduate Research Study in the Department of Anthropology (thesis can be found here: https://scholar.colorado.edu/concern/graduate_thesis_or_dissertations/hd76s1665)Defined and conducted a multi-sited ethnographic analysis of 12 B Corp-certified companies studying the practices of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and their impact on workers: - Defined the questions, objectives, and study design for a graduate-level anthropological research project (IRB Protocol # 23-0212) - Recruited and interviewed 50 executives and employees of B Corp-certified companies - Observed 12 B Corp community gatherings and related Corporate Social Responsibility events - Transcribed, analyzed, and coded over 75 hours of research data - Managed all subject relationships, consent documents, and other research administrative duties - Performed secondary research in support of graduate research including ethnographies, anthropological theory, and related journalism - Selected to present preliminary results of research at the EPIC People conference in October 2023 in Chicago - Selected to present research at Society for the Anthropology of Work conference at Tufts University in April 2024

Founded and led a marketing agency that offered marketing strategy and execution expertise to small and midsize B2B software companies. Work included:- Hired and led a team of five full-time employees and over 15 contractors across various disciplines, RevOps, UX design, graphic design, videographers, writing, and analytics- Led research for and development of marketing positioning, strategy, and plan for 25+ clients- Developed, executed, and trained team on market research methodology focused on customer and competitive insights- Presented research findings and marketing deliverables to clients- Worked within client teams to collaborate and coordinate efforts across design, product, engineering, customer support, and leadership- Partnered with clients to present at events and webinars - Established and managed technology partnerships with HubSpot, WPEngine, and Salesforce - Developed a repeatable framework for client management that improved relationships and reduced friction in the client relationship - Instituted the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to organize and standardize business processes

Sovos Compliance is a global tax compliance software company that acquired ShipCompliant. Accomplishments/experience includes: - Led 15 person team of marketers, designers, writers, and event specialists - Directed execution of marketing programs across seven business lines - Collaborated closely with the sales and product teams to support new business acquisition and customer retention - Established recurring virtual event series - Planned, executed, and emceed annual conference with 500+ attendees - Guided the transition to new marketing technology (from HubSpot to Marketo) to standardize and coordinate sales and marketing efforts across the company - Was selected to participate in Sovos’ inaugural leadership training

ShipCompliant is a compliance software for the beverage alcohol industry. Accomplishments/experience includes: - Grew the marketing team from one to six people - Asked to take on leadership of the product team which resulted in my team of reports increasing to 12 people comprised of product managers, marketers, writers, designers, and event specialists - Led customer research efforts to support more effective marketing, case study development, and product development - Established a structured marketing and project management process that supported clear expectations and planning for both the marketing and product teams - Collaborated with multiple departments, internal subject matter experts, and the government to produce twice-weekly articles that were regularly picked up by industry-leading publications on topics of compliance - Performed market research and supported the launch of an entirely new product, Taxify
