An introduction to the consulting tool box, from 'structured problem solving' (BCG / McKinsey / Bain) to what I call 'interpretative problem solving' (ReD Associates / design thinking). The MoF is a key player in setting overall financial and strategic objectives for the public sector in Denmark. Worked on: • Strategy formulation: Headed a secretariat that coordinated the work on the new strategy for eGovernment in Denmark.• Cost optimization: Managed project to optimize the government's EUR500m annual expenditures on external consultants. • Corporate Finance: Developing financial models and using Monte Carlo simulations to review business cases. • Governance: Managed high-profile project for the Danish government to change governance of large it-projects across 19 ministries and 180 agencies. • Managed strategically important projects involving largest global consultancies (McKinsey, Accenture, Deloitte, IBM). • Liasoned with the OECD on issues related to eGovernment, representing Denmark in several international meetings.

Worked on: • Merger analysis / shared services: Led analysis to establish cross-government shared service centres for it and finance. Managed large project team and showed annual cost reduction potential of EUR80m on base of EUR500m. Analysis led to establishment of two service centres. • Service improvement: Helped coordinate the management part of the Danish Government's "Quality Reform" aimed at improving public sector service delivery in Denmark.

Visiting Professor, teaching a master-level course on advanced organizational theory for the public sector. Special focus on the role of corporate branding in a public sector context. Taught the course for three semesters.

Coordinate organizational wide communication efforts at Agency under the Danish Ministry of Finance.

Coordinated mass media part of largest-to-date Danish public sector marketing campaign aimed at improving the usage of public sector services on-line.

• Built communication team from 1 to 8 staff and managed staff on day-to-day basis.• Worked closely with CEO and top management on issues related to organizational development and strategy.• Liasoned with the MIT Media Lab, where Learning Lab Denmark was a "corporate sponsor" along with IBM, Lego and several other blue chip companies. Role involved visiting the Media Lab to visit with high-level researchers and senior management.
