Achievements & Highlights: • Developed and mentored the first Grants & Projects Team in the City with a focus on compliance risk analysis and mitigation at a local, state, and federal level, as well as cross-training for continuity of operations within the Division. • Evaluated and monitored the strength of internal controls related to grant management, grant transaction approvals, procurement process approvals, and general workflows.• Developed and implemented a new account structure for tracking grant expenses and revenue in coordination with the Finance Director to minimize human error in reporting, create greater integration between department files and the municipal financial system, and to increase efficiencies for end of year closeouts. • Established a single-source filling system for newly secured FTA & CDBG-MIT grants to maintain documentation management processes compliant with 2 CFR 200.• Identified and corrected issues with grant allocation practices preventing federal agency findings.

During my time at RAICES, I managed all aspects of the life-cycle including grant research, writing, review, submission, contract negotiations, compliance, as well as tracking of deliverables, reporting, and donor relations. The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), is a Texas-based non-profit organization that provides free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees.

I started Stir & Stitch to create high-quality, small batch fabric and leather goods. Each item is handmade with materials sourced from local vendors and small suppliers. Our ethical procurement strategies prioritize working with the established business community to further the economic development of the creative industry. Building strategic community relationship with local boutiques, creatives and city officials helped me grow in West Lafayette and Indianapolis luxury handmade consumer goods market.Our social media strategy and website content focused on converting followers into customers with the goal of increasing online sales through our own e-commerce platform and Etsy. As Director of International Development I contributed to institutional strategic planning for growth and expansion in fundraising and program development including rebranding efforts and the redefinition of programmatic goals; wrote and managed multicounty grants.Recruited, trained and supervised staff and interns in 18 country offices throughout Latin America and Washington, D.C.; coordinated cross-functional teams in the design of local documentation for partners, donors, and international events.Represented the organization at high-level meetings and international conferences such as the Clinton Global Initiative, UN Youth Conference and the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
