Senior Legal Counsel
Current- Working closely with European Senior Management to understand the company’s needs and strategic objectives in order for the team to provide high quality, pragmatic and focused legal support to the business- Experienced in drafting, negotiating and providing guidance on a wide variety of cross-border commercial contracts, including customers, procurement and supply chain- Experienced in building, owning and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders- Excellent interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills- Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced in-house work environment with competing priorities- Working and influencing cross-functionally with colleagues and business stakeholders in EMEA as well as other regions to continuously improve structures and processes and ensure that best practices in the department and the company are implemented and adhered to- Continuous assessment of legal risk exposures and development and implementation of risk mitigation measures- Balancing the need of limiting risk to the company with the need to support growth- Training across EMEA Business Units and Group Services Departments on contract formation and terms, legal issues, GDPR, competition law, anti-bribery & corruption, and codes of conduct - Planning for forthcoming EU Directive on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and already introduced German Supply Chain Act Key member of the GDPR implementation team, devising and rolling out policies and procedures and ongoing GDPR advice to the business- Managing communications to customers and suppliers around Covid-19, supply chain impact due to semi-conductor shortages, force majeure and sanctions due to the Russia - Ukraine war, etc.
