My career sits at the intersection of education, mental health prevention, neurodiversity, edtech and storytelling. I’m an Inclusive Education Consultant, Researcher, Entrepreneur, Psychologist and the published author of "Fly Together" (Volamos Juntos), a children’s book about autism used to reduce stigma and increase empathy.𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:As a Chevening Scholar, I earned a Master’s in Inclusive Education from University College London (UCL) and hold a Bachelor’s in Clinical Psychology from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ).I am a strong advocate for the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. My commitment to tackling real-world educational challenges is evident through my work:● As Chief Education Officer at TEAcompaño, a pioneering digital ecosystem dedicated to supporting autistic individuals, I lead the strategic vision and educational framework, focusing on creating inclusive, evidence-based resources and programmes.● As a UNICEF Consultant, I co-developed an Early Warning System (EWS) for students at risk of educational exclusion, impacting over 16,000 educational institutions regulated by the Ministry of Education in Ecuador.● I co-designed and led a research collaboration between the UCL Centre for Inclusive Education and the USFQ IDEA Institute to identify barriers to inclusive education, informing policy for teacher capacity-building and curriculum development.● As a Research Assistant for the Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) at Oxford University, I assessed over 200 students’ language abilities, accelerating the delivery of NELI programmes in schools across England.My passion for storytelling enables me to translate complex topics into accessible solutions that transform theory into practice, enhancing personalised, accessible, and quality education for all:● As a Forbes Magazine columnist, I leverage my platform to share insights on education, edtech, human psychology, AI in education, neurodiversity, mental health, and autism. ● Additionally, I focus on teacher capacity-building with an emphasis on teacher well-being to reduce burnout.I believe I am constantly evolving and consider myself a lifelong learner with a growth mindset.𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵:I’m always keen to connect with individuals interested in diversity & inclusion, edtech, education, disability, mental health, storytelling, and most importantly - personal and professional growth.Feel free to reach out to me via LinkedIn or email me at andrea.villasmil.20@alumni.ucl.ac.uk
