Worked directly with kids on all levels of math and reading, supporting their work, grading worksheets, and inputting data on each student's scores. Kumon is as an after school enrichment program for kids age three to high school, and having to assist them through a variety of different academic levels was challenging at times. Overall, the experience I gained at Kumon helped improve my ability to deal with conflict and confusion, along with a better understanding of the types of social obstacles I could encounter in the future dealing with kids from all kinds of backgrounds with different ways they deal with learning new information.

Throughout this 5-week long internship, I got to experience the real world of civil engineering, and how an engineering firm runs on a day-to-day basis. Salum Construcoes provided me with the opportunity to work in Belo Horizonte, Brazil as an intern assisting on active projects within the region. From my time there, I furthered my proficiency with Microsoft Excel, got to see my work applied in the real world, and experienced a very collaborative work environment.
