• Studied the prevalence of energetic lightning and its association with severe weather, using a combination of ground and satellite data. [Three conference presentations and two peer-reviewed articles.]• Designed LF radio instrumentation for collection and processing of lightning atmospheric radio data (“sferics”).• Studied lightning distance prediction and D-region ionosphere estimation using machine-learned models and sferics. [Two conference presentations and one published peer-reviewed article]• Collaborated on the design, firmware development, manufacturing, calibration and testing of a novel electric field mill instrument. [Patent issued and one published peer-reviewed article]

Physics Department

Managed a total of four lab sessions for an experimental physics class, and graded for a sophomore-level modern physics class.

Aerospace Engineering Sciences Department

Ported Time/Frequency Difference of Arrival (TDOA/FDOA) measurement models, implemented statistical filtering algorithms, and developed a .NET interface for an orbit determination framework in C++/C#.

Amherst College Electronics Club

• Led club meetings and projects.• Wrote example code and designed circuits to facilitate learning of embedded electronics.• Coordinated club projects and resources. Notable projects include: high-altitude balloon, 4x4x4 LED cube, and a robot hardware platform for instruction.
