As a contract manager, my first and foremost mission was to ensure the life of the contract: I was the interlocutor between our operational teams and our suppliers when it came down to administrative issues. I was in charge of everything from updating standard operational procedures, creating internal accounts for payments and monitoring supplier performance, to solving invoicing and payment related claims. I also animated quarterly business review meetings with the suppliers in my portfolio, where we discussed and analyzed the business done together, its quality and points that can be improved on both sides. In order to do all this, I worked closely with our operational teams, but also with the buyer of logistics services, who also included me in tender negotiation meetings for input on subjects close to my everyday activity. I was the first point of contact that French inland carriers had when it came to invoicing. For this particular segment of activity, the carriers do not have to issue their own invoice: it was up to me to receive the transport document, check their accuracy and input all necessary information into our billing system, in order to a monthly statement to be issued and bill automatically all transports done in a month. The work volumes increased quite sensibly at the end of the month (due to the monthly accounting closure). My second mission was to receive and solve invoicing related-claims from our suppliers and assist them in order for payment to be done smoothly and correctly.While doing this job, I have also helped the invoice validation team when they were understaffed. This gave me the opportunity not only to step in and help my team, but also to see the bigger picture and learn other aspects related to the invoicing process in logistics. Show less -

I would also take calls from tour leaders of ongoing groups and provide assistance regarding any kind of issues ranging from minor itinerary amendments, to major ones, such as coach break-down or a tourist falling ill.
