• Design of a Recommender System (RS) for patients with Osteoarthritis (OA) and Diabetes.International project in collaboration with other 6 countries for helping to solve the problem of managing non-communicable diseases. My approach involved performing an analysis of the State of the Art, discovering and structuring the multiple data sources available, designing a PoT to test a sensor device and create a sample dataset, and organizing and focus groups with patients and physiotherapists to obtain user requirements.

• Design of a Multi-market Trading Strategy for Optimizing a Battery Storage.Analyzed the operational characteristics of the Day-ahead, Balancing, and aFRR markets to create a profit plan for next-day prediction. In the evaluation phase potential profits on tens of thousands of euros were obtained. This project involved using ML, Time-series analysis, and optimization models (Pyomo).• Forecasting energy price anomalies for the Balancing Market (BAL).collected and combined weather data with operational data from the Day-a-head and BAL market to predict positive and negative peaks in the energy price for the BAL market. The project involved engineering +30 temporal features and implementing a peak detection algorithm to label the data. Several temporal models were tested, obtaining the best results with a VARMAX

• Automation of an adverse media screening process on high profile clients.Analyzed the business process to abstract steps that can be automated. NLP techniques were used to deal with automatic information gathering, data preprocessing, and entities recognition. A ranking score was designed to obtain the most critical hits. Finally, a containerized application was built using Flask, which was deployed on AWS.• AI explainability for Credit Risk Modeling.Analyzed and compared global and local explainability models such as Tree-SHAP, Asymmetric SHAP Values, LIME, Anchors, Individual Conditional Expectation (ICE), and Counterfactuals (DiCE), to enhance models’ transparency and decision-making processes. The project also involved designing a customized dashboard for displaying model explanations according to different techniques.

• Customer segmentation and Demographic Change Analysis.Analyzed the population of Eindhoven to identify trends and patterns that could influence DVU’s strategic planning. The project involved using NLP for the extraction of useful information form free-form text and data anonymization. Three customer segments were identified and modeled over time using government population demographic data.• Improving customers experience through optimization of services location.Designed two strategies to predict the impact on service relocation between stores: (1) using customer satisfaction data and distance to store as a proxy to satisfaction. (2) Using phone calls appointments data to learn customers preferred location.

Rappi is one of the fastest growing LATAM startups reaching nine countries in only six years. As part of the Journey Estimation Times team I was responsible for developing and maintaining different models used by the core business. My main responsibilities included:• Performing EDAs to diagnose anomalies in operational metrics related to the models supported by the team• Performing A/B testing to test hypotheses/configurations for the different operational zones.• Performing feature-engineering to improve models' performance• Building pipelines using Airflow to automate data gathering, model training, and metrics generation.• Supporting product teams giving them feedback and insights based on evidence found in the operational metrics.

As an innovation leader, I developed proofs of concept-technology as solutions proposals to problems our students suffered when using the university’s digital services. I worked closely with a UX team to understand our users’ pains and goals.
