Geographer, holds a Ph.D. in Geography and Territorial Planning by NOVA University of Lisbon (2014), and a Master Executive in Business Administration by ISCTE Executive Education (2020). He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marina Parque das Nações, S.A. (since 2018). He was an Integrated Researcher at CICS.NOVA Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences (Social Sciences and Humanities School – NOVA University of Lisbon). He has participated in several research projects (basic and applied research) in the main topics of transports planning and spatial planning (more than 50 projects), incluiding the Post-Doc «Research Programme on the New Challenges of Waterfronts: Urban Regeneration and Climate Change», funded by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (2016-2018). He is also a regular invited Professor of the Department of Geography and Regional Planning (Social Sciences and Humanities School), teaching modules on transports planning, sustainable mobility, and maritime affairs. He was Adviser of the Secretary of State for Transports of Portuguese Government (2009-2011).He has authored 3 books, 12 book chapters, more than 50 peer reviewed papers (scientific journals and conference proceedings), numerous technical and scientific reports, and delivered more than 100 conferences and seminar presentations.
