The isotope ratio results will be integrated into current conceptual models about Cd isotope fractionation during uptake into plants.Project: Cereal grains are the dominant source of cadmium in the human diet, and Cd in rice is of major concern in Asia where rice daily intake is high. This research is part of a larger project to better understand the processes of Cd mobilization and uptake by the rice plant.
