About Andréia Alvares
My interest in earthquake engineering and catastrophe risk modeling started in 2017 when I was hired as an undergraduate researcher at LabMec/ReLab. The field's multidisciplinarity fascinated me, as I could learn and apply different skills and concepts, from programming and statistics to dynamics, mechanics, and seismology. My research interests led me to a PhD program at ETH Zürich in the chair of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering. Currently, I am interested in employing my skills to develop models that can generate impact.
