Andrei Booriakin is an artist, designer, and product development leader.Andrei’s career spans over two decades working for large corporations such as SAIC, 989 Studios, and Sony Computer Entertainment. Here he was able to cut through bureaucratic inefficiencies and shape large teams of highly skilled developers shipping successful products with budgets into the tens of millions of dollars. As part of the senior management team running a high-profile development studio, Andrei focused heavily on the consumer facing side of product development. He lead his team to improve overall processes from concept to completion by creating a more efficient development environment that resulted in a better experience for the consumer as well as the developers.With his responsibility rooted firmly in all things consumer facing, and the overall user experience, Andrei applied design thinking to the complex problem of human needs. He used the constant iteration of implement>break>improve to drive rapid prototyping and development within constrained schedules. In terms of assembling and building a AAA team of developers, Andrei sees himself as an aggregator of skillsets and a curator of talent. Developers often don’t recognize their greatest strengths and as a leader he makes it his job to help them see.Andrei lives in San Diego with his wife Rosie. Together they enjoy traveling throughout California, from San Diego to Sonoma and Lake Tahoe to Borrego, snapping and sharing photos as they go.
