Began working on on the first version of Bitdefender BOX, an innovative solution designed in-house for protecting all of your Internet connected devices, from classic desktops and laptops to smartphones, tablets and all of the IoT environment. We have since lauched a new version, BOX 2, with better hardware, new security features and improved looks. As a Senior QA Analyst in the BOX Team, my main assignment is testing the hell out of the firmware that runs our BOX hardware, starting from the functionality our brilliant software engineers designed and developed and going down into the bowels of the underlying operating system, spanning all the way from finding bugs that could affect the user experience and protection to stress, disaster, throughput, performance, security and exploit detection tests. Still coordinating all QA activities, but now for the Firewall Testing Team, part of the Innovation & Technology Department.My team and I are working now strictly on driver testing, which include: - the Bitdefender firewall drivers, which are used in the BD2011 line of products, the BD2012 line of products and are also delivered as part of SDK's given to third-party integrators. I also provide support for firewall drivers being used in the Bitdefender Business Product Line.- the Bitdefender SelfProtect and Intrusion Detection System driver, used in the BD2011 and BD2012 product lines.I am directly responsible with the procedure of WHQL driver signing for all the drivers used in the Bitdefender products, and also with the automated testing of the firewall drivers using the Microsoft Driver Test Manager framework.Other tasks include:- research of new and innovative ways to test drivers- use/create/write specs for testing tools to be used in Windows or Linux environments- give a hand to the Support Team with issues that require in-depth analysis- continuously working on improving and streamlining work processes for my team- motivate and coach team members to achieve high performance standardsWith the firewall drivers employed in the aforementioned products we have managed to reduce the number of crashes to an all-time low and are planning to go beyond that in the future, assuring seamless and nearly bug-free integration with the Microsoft XP, Vista and 7 operating systems. Also we are working on providing early compatibility with the future Windows 8 OS.The Intrusion Detection System was firstly implemented into the BD2011 product line. Due to the ongoing improvements by the development team and thorough testing, we managed to achieve an impressive 97% score in the latest Matousec Proactive Security Challenge test (look it up on their website), earning third place and coming ahead of all of our direct competitors.

Coordinate all QA activities for the Network Testing Team, part of the Bitdefender Desktop Project for the 2008, 2009 and 2010 versions of the product.My team and I have taken very good care of the following modules:- Firewall (drivers testing, integration testing and also GUI testing)- Http Scanner module (http proxy testing used to scan web traffic using the antivirus engines).- Privacy and Parental Control integration testing - scanner tests for http, pop3 and smtp protocols used in those modules.Also started working on the implementation and early testing of the Intrusion Detection System for the future versions of Bitdefender.Also have written specs for automated testing implementation and provide help for the Support Teams with some of the stranger issues that have occurred and which required in-depth analysis, remote sessions and reproduction in order for the developers to devise a fix.

Create test cases and participate to the creation of test plans;Verify the software product features and functionality according to software specifications and documentation;Report bugs providing as much information as necessary (snapshots, ways of reproduction);Cooperate with the development team to resolve the problems and bugs Follow-up on fixed bugs to re-verify them (regressive testing)Create and execute scripts and tools to be used for the automated testing;Collaborate with the Customer Service team to obtain feedback from the clients regarding the evolution of the product

Assist customers with connection related issues using the mobile phones or the modems sold by Zapp. Also i managed the network complaints that came from the clients regarding the mobile network coverage and issues with Internet connection speed in different areas of the country.
