I spent much of the past two decades teaching history and the humanities at the University of Oregon’s R.D. Clark Honors College, the University of Adelaide, and Quest University Canada. I was drawn to teaching not just because I enjoy it, but also because education is a fundamental building block of a just and equitable society.I earned a reputation as an excellent lecturer, engaging seminar leader, and effective mentor and advisor, and won teaching, advising, and mentoring prizes at the University of Adelaide and Quest University Canada.Raised in France, Switzerland, Japan, and the United States, I earned an undergraduate degree in politics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in history at the University of California, Berkeley.
