Projects I have led at BlueCode include: USAID ECAP II (Empowered Children and Adolescents Program)BlueCode works as part of a consortium led by Project Concern Zambia. Our contribution on this project is the design, development, and delivery of a full end to end case management platform that works on tablets.SmartCerv (Cervical Cancer Control Management Information System)Under a contract with Project Concern International, BlueCode delivered an offline-first information management system that manages patient information from enrollment through screening and referral. Further the system is designed to connect to DHIS2 and allow the sharing of information between multiple sites while providing robust data analysis dashboards both at Central level and on devices. Key features: Offline capable, visualisation dashboards both locally on device and centrally available, connected to DHIS2.Zambia Electronic Immunization Registry (ZEIR)Subcontracted by PATH, our major roles in the development of ZEIR included, among other tasks;a. Building the actual software application in partnership with ONA - a Kenyan software development company.b. Handling requirements changes and bug fixes, quality and user assurance testing and participating in the on-the-ground facility deployment in Southern Province, Zambia.c. Supporting the Ministry of Health with capacity building and technical assistance through creation of training materials, conducting training sessions, holding meetings to solicit feedback and so on.d. Developing the platform’s extensive data dashboards and automated reporting accessible by both PATH and MoH staff. Zambia U-reportWe built U-report by adapting an open source platform called RapidSMS to enable the exchange of messages between subscribers and the platform. U-report also features extensive data dashboards that support stakeholders’ decision making around mobilization and service delivery built on an open source visualization platform.

1. Writing software in various languages and frameworks to deliver quality world performant software for platforms such as the Zambia Orphans and Vulnerable Children Management Information System.2. Advising on technology options, participating in team discussions and decisions.3. Undertaking various code/performance optimisation strategies both my own and the team's software to ensure production software runs with the responsiveness the user expects.

Served as the technical lead responsible for highlighting the trade-offs and impact of technical decisions in relation to deployment, the user experience and scale-up of the system.Work with the designated product owner on the following:- Ensure that the clinical context for the immunization workflows at the facility and district levels translate into the functional technical requirements for the electronic immunization registry- Advise the product owner on the tradeoffs and prioritisation of technical work based on timelines Work with developers engaged to outline the following technical processes so they can be scaled across both a) Southern Province and b) all of Zambia- Product code reviews to ensure best practices- Security risk assessments to test system integrity- Data quality assessments of data on production server- Server hosting solutions- Data migration to local servers- System updates that can be managed for remote devices- Offline and online syncing processes for data management- Interoperability of data from Short Message Service (SMS) platforms into the electronic immunization registry- Interoperability of electronic immunization registry into national DHIS2 (and coordination with developers on this work)- Prepare all technical documentation, in coordination with the product owner, focused on the technical viewpoint of the releases

1. Acting as Focal point for communication on T4D and representing UNICEF in various local communities of practice and task forces related to T4D.2. Acting as a technical resource to UNICEF Zambia to support the U-report platform3. Provide day to day follow up with partners around Technology for Development initiatives.3. Providing advice on negotiations with technology service providers and mobile service providers in consultation with Programme and Operations Sections.4. Overseeing and manging systems configuration and maintenance work with mobile service providers to ensure consistency and quality while performing systems maintenance and monitoring to identify challenges.

mUbumi: a Mobile Health project using technology to improve antenatal and postnatal care visit compliance such as provide real-time data from the facility and community on maternal and child health care as well as improving communication during emergency referrals.1. Requirements analysis and verification on the technical specification.2. Incorporated new requirements and improved the existing code base on existing features.3. Developed a new, enhanced Referral System that routes and handles incoming referrals based on multiple classes of users and locations.4. Developed new, user friendly reports that enable direct interface between Excel and the web platform.5. Other changes enabling better viewing of incoming messages, logical filtering for parameters.6. System and Database maintenance, modem Hardware troubleshooting, remote code deployment over Github and SSH7. Created disaster recovery and business continuity plan

Zambia U-Report: Real Time, large scale SMS based Counselling, Polling and Campaign platform. The platform is currently being used to reach up to 80, 000 youths from every district.1. Responsible for the Technical delivery of the entire project: End-to-end planning and scope definition, interfacing with UNICEF staff, Government (National AIDS Council) and the supporting NGO to deliver a solution that fully responded to the needs of both Stake Holders and End users.2. Designed the Zambia U-Report platform based on RapidSMS and RapidSMS polls and developed and currently maintain the public facing website: www.zambiaureport.org3. Developed the counselling module that interfaces with the messaging system that accept messages from all the Cellular Networks and auto-select an available counsellor, enabling response via an intuitive web interface4. Client and other Stakeholder engagement: Attended various program level meetings and represented U-report in Ministry of Community Development Working Groups5. Developed close working relationships with mobile service provider personnel to allow for faster problem resolution
