I joined Success Academy in 2009 as a first grade math and reading teacher and athletics coach. As an educator during the organization’s earliest years, he helped create and implement SA’s math, reading, science, and health curriculum. From 2012 until 2017, Mr. Geddes served as a dean at several Success Academy schools (including SA Harlem West and SA Bronx 2), helping each school build a strong culture and coaching teachers. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a seventh grade ELA teacher and assistant principal at SA Harlem West. For the past five years, Mr. Geddes has also worked as a graduate professor at Touro College, sharing best practices with aspiring educators. His goal as a principal is to foster a collaborative, close-knit school community with a clear vision of academic excellence. Mr. Geddes holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the College of New Rochelle and master’s of arts in teacher education from Kaplan University. He enjoys spending time with his family and also plays in several semi-pro basketball leagues throughout the city.Mr. Geddes is now currently the principal of Harlem Prep Middle School.
