A small introduction and welcome to my world.Security is more than just a profession; it’s a commitment to stay ahead of evolving threats. My name is André Mundell, and I work as a security risk assessor for Alwinco (Always in Control) in South Africa. We are a prominent leader in providing independent security risk assessments. People often confuse security risk assessment with risk management or security management. However, these three concepts are very different—related but not the same. At Alwinco, our focus is solely on security risk assessments.It is a common misconception that security and security risk assessment are the same; they are connected but fundamentally different.Please search online for "Alwinco" or "Andre Mundell" to check our credibility.There are different views on crime.I have gained a unique perspective on crime, viewing it as a dynamic and constantly evolving entity. Textbooks and training define crime as something static. We can perceive crime as a living entity.Many people think of crime as just a number, but it's more like a living object that can adapt and prosper in different environments. It alters society, like cancer, by taking on new forms and finding new targets. Crime is violent, and it also flows like water, before exploding into a tsunami.This point of view emphasises the significance of comprehending how crime changes over time. By looking at crime in this way, we can come up with more proactive and flexible solutions. This way of dealing with security, law enforcement, and crime prevention is as strong and varied as the crime itself.We also offer talks and workshops on various perspectives regarding crime.The true question is not about the existence of security measures but rather about the completion of an independent security risk assessment. Remember that in security, you can only be a player or a referee; you cannot be both. Security hardware alone is not security.
