Participated in mentored research on molecular pathogenesis of Escherichia coli. Projects include:o Comparison of phosphoethanolamine cellulose production among mastitis associated Escherichia coli and avian pathogenic Escherichia coli.o Genome-wide analysis and identification of capsule-producing genes in Mastitis Associated Escherichia coli.Performed basic and complex laboratory procedures and recorded protocols, results, and conclusions in a laboratory notebook which was shared with the team in presentations.

Conducted microbiology tests on food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, and controlled substances. Testing set ups included bacteria, yeast and mold plating, coliform petrifilm testing, rapid yeast and mold petrifilm testing, bile tolerant, clostridium, B. cepacia plating, anaerobic plating, Candida petrilfilm, Enterobacter petrifilm, Coliform/E,coli BAM, and water testing (total bacterial count, yeast and mold, pseudomonas, and coliform that required specific mediums for water), as well as conducting laboratory control samples such a quality air testing, weighing and diluting samples aseptically and proper sanitizing/cleaning methods for microbiology laboratories.

Performed data analysis of the area, publishing sets of charts to show the performance over time.Organized the interview schedule of 10 candidates for the team to assist the Spanish and Portuguese Supervisor.Provided customer service and other secretary duties to around 20 patrons daily.
