Wrote two reports for the City of Vancouver, one provided a general framework for approaching walkability, starting with a purely technical perspective and advancing towards a human-centred intersectional approach. The second report outlined the importance of city resilience for respiratory outbreaks, implementing physical distancing, barriers, and adequate ventilation. Finally, we explore equity considerations that should be considered in response to an outbreak.

I worked as a Health Technology Assessment Specialists, doing secondary research on high-price drugs for catastrophic diseases. Our reports consisted mostly of scoping reviews. My tasks included developing a suitable search strategy, collecting data, synthesizing results, and (as a team) writing a personalized recommendation. I also reviewed the reports authored by other team members. During my last months, I was also tasked with proposing a new strategy for research funding. I also developed a newsletter for public health professionals summarizing the most important outputs from local researchers, which outlasted me for years.

I authored the Freedom of the Net Report of Ecuador in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The report involved researching local policy, interviewing locals, and work meetings with the Freedom of the Net team to harmonize the results at the regional level.

Research associate for OpenGlobal, a research project led by Taylor Owen and Chris Tenove, and supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Centre for International Governance Innovation, the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, the Liu Institute for Global Issues, and the Munk School of Global Affairs.We produced the series "The War is Just a Click Away" in OpenCanada, exploring the risks and possible responses and digital connections to war. I also co-authored two pieces and served as liaison with some key contributors.

FLOK Society Coordinator:Negotiated with government officials, from junior officers to ministries. Lobbied for funding, and two ministries supported the project I coordinated. Organized several public events with international speakers.Grew our team from two individuals to three divisions (research, administration, and communications) with members from five different countries (assisted with interviews and hiring management). This participatory research project that reached the 23 provinces of the country was possible because our team understood our cultural differences and worked together. Up to this date, I keep in contact with some of these people, which I now call friends, because I joined them in multiple meetings and served as their interpreter, even during radio interviews and other outreach activities we conducted over that short but fruitful period. Soon after, I moved to a more stable position at the Ministry of Science and Technology.
