22 Years experience with strong technical background in General Insurance and experience to succesfully manage teams through difficult situations such as M&A, start ups, CAT events, cultural changes, portfolio turn arround, challenging growth and profitability targets. My professional experience includes various underwriting departments and leadership roles in claims, underwriting, sales and distribution in different countries. In 2007 I was selected by RSA Group for a two years training program to strengthen my management and leadership skills and fast track my career development. As part of this program I spent two years to develop my underwriting and portfolio management skills in the Marine field in London Market. During that period I was involved in many start ups to underwrite Marine business across Europe.Between 2010 and 2012, I managed the Marine Portfolio in RSA Chile, which included 3 line of business Cargo, Hull and Aquaculture and a team of 8 underwriters. In 2012 I expanded my role to lead the Construction & Engineering team in conjunction with Marine across all Specialty Lineas and I was responsable for GBP 51m portfolio Early in 2015, at the age of 35 I became part of the excecutive committee of RSA Chile and resposible for the corporate channel Business Unit with responsability across all line of business, leading a team of 45 and a portfolio larger than GBP 100m. At the age of 37 I became Managing Director of a Global Company leading a team of 70 marine experts spread across 14 Branches worldwide, aiming to help the Insurance Industry to improve their result throught effective claims and recovery management. In 2019 I founded Specialty Broker, which is a retail broker mainly foucused on building complex Insurance Programs and Risk Managements Plans for complex commercial risks. In 2022 I co-founded VAIS which is an Insurtech specialized in embedded Insurance for digital platforms.
