- Successfully managed optimization projects from initiation to closing, leading cross-functional teams, for high-caliber operators in Permian, Mid-Con and California. Scope, risk, procurement and stakeholder engagement were effectively managed. Project scopes included the development and support of solutions that would either break or mitigate a detrimental/damaging trend of the drilling process or improve drilling performance by minimizing non-productive time. Successful completion of the projects translated into thousands of dollars in savings. - Technical advisor for North America. Notable Achievements:- Led the drilling optimization project that significantly reduced drilling time, saving 2-3 days of drilling operations ($250K/day), on deep vertical wells for a CA operator. - Improved overall reliability, consistency and performance drilling 8 ¾” high dogleg curves for wells in a field for major operator in the Permian Basin. Curve drilling avg. time was reduced from ~36hrs to ~25hrs. - Optimized the 4 ¾” motor BHA and operational parameter road map for the well that holds the fastest horizontal run, at the time, drilling 6,000+ ft in less than 45 hrs.

- Part of the operation’s team that oversaw the drilling activity in the west coast geo-market. Primary role was to manage drilling projects from start to end, providing cost-efficient and technically sound drilling solutions for the different drilling application challenges. - Position required constant interaction with the operator’s geology and drilling teams. Day to day activities involved well planning, anti-collision analysis, BHA design, Torque & drag and hydraulics modeling, vibration mitigation planning, bit selection, mud program and drilling program reviews.- Provided drilling optimization services to key California onshore and offshore operators. - Participated in a successful project with a top-tier California offshore operator, requiring remote monitoring to provide real-time optimization feedback. - Last 18 months of tenure were spent as in-house drilling applications engineer for Occidental (OXY) of Elk Hills.Notable Achievements:- Worked with San Joaquin Valley operator as a field engineer and as an drilling applications engineer in a successful ongoing drilling campaign setting records in their field both for production volumes and reduction of drilling costs. Drilling and completion of a shallow horizontal well was reduced to an average of ~6 days from top to bottom allowing to drill 10 more wells per year.- Led the optimization project of Extended Reach (ERD) wells drilled from platform Holly for Venoco Inc. in offshore California. This project resulted in the successful implementation of rotary steerable systems to steer, the before unsteerable wells and continuously place them in the sweet spot of the reservoir. This lead to significant savings for the customer and further expansion and development of the field. - In collaboration with OXY, reduced the drill bit runs to drill the McLure shale wells from 10+ runs and sometimes abandonment to a consistent average of 3-4 runs.

- Measuring/Logging While Drilling (MWD/LWD) Engineer assigned to the west coast geo-market. Gained valuable experience working under strict safety protocols and amid high-dollar equipment in a rugged environment at the drilling rig sites of top-tier operators. - Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in directional drilling operations and processes such as BHA design and analysis, mud motors and rotary steerable systems, pressure management, drilling dynamics, underbalanced drilling, geothermal applications and complex 3D well designs due to extremely sensitive anti-collision challenges. - Specialized as a field drilling dynamics engineer, spending the last two years working primarily in real-time optimization, streaming key downhole drilling parameters to mitigate and manage vibration and avoid drilling dysfunctions on the spot. - Ran the most advanced Baker Hughes’ Drilling Services Directional and Formation Evaluation tools, such as OnTrak/AziTrak (Formation Eval.), TestTrak (Formation Pressure), LithoTrak (Lithology Eval.), StarTrak (High-Definition Resist. Image logs), CoPilot (Drilling Dynamics), conventional motors and Rotary Steerable System - AutoTrak (Curve, Exact, G3, GT, Xtreme, DG).- Created and QC’d logs to be interpreted by field and office geologists. Knowledgeable on hydrogen typing, rock identification, and reservoir navigation concepts derived from FE logs. Achievements:- Was part of BHI drilling services’ directional drilling team that set OXY’s worldwide record for footage drilled in 24 hr in the 12 ¼” section at 6415 ft with perfect directional control in 2010. - Being one of the top field engineers at the time, I was exposed to BHI Drilling Services’ cutting-edge technology field testing jobs in California such as Wired Pipe (INTELISERV), Smart Battery/Foam underbalanced drilling and High Speed Telemetry (HD imaging).

- Led a team of five (5) IT professionals maintaining full connectivity to home base in Florida US, coordinating up to six (6) different deployments at the same time, in several remote access areas across Colombia.- Coordinated resources and logistics for deployments and managed and maintained the operations of the data network in Colombia. - Oversaw the network activity of Colombia’s segment of a larger data network, including 5 servers (DC, Exchange, SQL), 250+ workstations and 800+ end-users in two (2) fixed operating bases (FOB) and six (6) Forward Operation Loctions (FOL) teams. - Initiated, developed, and implemented several projects of small and medium complexity raging from VSAT relocations to implementation of a multi-site network.- Administrated and supported a Windows/Cisco-based data and VoIP network in a multi-site, overseas environment, having to deal with the insufficient technological/infrastructural resources available in a third-world country.
