Oversaw Program and Construction Management efforts for Transportation and Buildings in California, and the Seattle area in a matrix role; with emphasis in business development, client satisfaction, and project execution. Specific responsibilities included:• Positioned AECOM as the industry leader in Program and Construction Management across Business Lines in the West Region.• Met regularly with clients to ensure that project expectations were met and future opportunities were provided.• Cross-trained staff so they could work on PM/CM projects for other Business Lines.• Developing a “Center of Excellence” for program controls that could be offered across the West Region.• Principal in Charge for a variety of clients in various Business Lines.

For Project/Construction Management in the West Region, responsible for an operating unit of URS. Grew the PM/CM practice to become the dominant player in Southern California. Major accomplishments included winning significant Transportation and Buildings PM/CM projects across California. Consistently exceeded and met sales, net margin, billability, and DSO metrics. Had one of the top performing offices/Regions in URS for many years.

Greater Los Angeles Area

Director of the Central Area of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO), Responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of ten architects, engineers and planners. Staff developed multimodal rail and highway transportation projects within the City of Los Angeles, including the planning for the Pasadena Metro Blue Line, the Metro Red Line Eastern Extension, and the development and funding of the arterial and highway and freeway system.

Project Executive, actively led the design and planning efforts for various rail projects including the Metrolink track and station expansion, the Long Island Rail Road Facility expansion, the Port of Long Beach Pier “B” redesign, and Caltrans Rail Facility in San Jose, CA.

As the HOV Program Manager for METRO, managed all components of the $500 million Freeway HOV Lane program and the $70 million Traffic Management System of the Freeway network in Los Angeles County. Managed a team of design consultants as well as the design segment developed by Caltrans.

Held various positions with the California State Department of Transportation (CALTRANS) over an 11 year period. As Senior Transportation Engineer, managed four Project Study Teams composed of 20 engineers in the Project Study Branch. Staff prepared conceptual designs and feasibility studies for highway projects in Ventura, CA.As Project Engineer, managed A/E consultants in the design of the $200 million Harbor Freeway Transitway. Coordinated design criteria, utility relocation, and monitored project milestones to ensure that project delivery was on schedule and within budget. Program involved a nine-mile section, which included six projects.As Project Engineer/Design Engineer, managed a CALTRANS team of design professionals to complete the $200 million segment of the I-105 Century Freeway in the City of Downey, CA.
