Andre Soluri is the founder and principal of Soluri Architecture, a progressive design oriented firm based in New York City that has won 27 design awards in the last 8 years and completed over 120 projects since 2005 including offices, residential, medical, commercial and public buildings.Besides leading and managing Soluri Architecture, Andre has been the lead designer on all the firms projects including the award-winning multifamily condo The Vidro, the dental office Sensident, and offices for Birchbox and RAB Lighting. Andre’s training and education has been broad and interdisciplinary – he graduated from the Cooper Union’s prestigious undergraduate architecture school, completed his master’s degree at Columbia’s University’s GSAPP, and is an alumnus of the competitive Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Prior to founding Soluri Architecture he had extensive experience in a broad range of NYC based firms, having worked for a dozen architects, engineers, and developers for over 10 years included Diller + Scofidio, the Hut Sachs Studio, HB2, Perkins Eastman, and many small practitioners.The Covid-19 pandemic has been a call-to-arms for Andre to use his skills and training as an architect to help those in while advocating elected officials on behalf of small businesses. He is a key member of the Unified AIANY-NYS Crisis Taskforce where he currently leads a team producing webinars hosted by the NYC Dept of Small Business Services (SBS) to help small business owners reopen and stay open during the pandemic. To date these the team has produced over 1000 slides of content and the webinars have educated over 200 architects and small business owners. Also through the Taskforce, Andre helped co-found an award-winning initiative called the “Design Corps” which is a platform for NYC’s architecture and design community to provide pro-bono services to restaurants and other small businesses struggling to survive the pandemic.Andre is a member of the AIA and is co-chair of the AIANY's Future of Practice Committee and a member of the AIANY's Advocacy Committee which advises the AIANY board on policy & advocacy issues. He is currently licensed and registered to practice architecture in the US states of New York, New Jersey and Washington. He also holds a nationally recognized NCARB certificate which permits licensure in all 50 US states.
