Profile bio

About Andres Perez

I’m an education leader with over a decade of experience in curriculum design, instruction, and project management. I’m focused on how we can prepare students —not for the society that exists, but for the one we aspiring to be. I utilize an equity mindset, innovative technology, and community partnerships to create learning environments that are joyful, relevant, and meaningful. As American writer, feminist, womanist, librarian, and civil rights activist Audre Lorde said “Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare.” Her words have never been more true, especially for so many of our teachers and students who face unique, complex, and personal challenges on their path to academic achievement and self-actualization.I’m currently focused on how we can create learning environments that inspire instead of drain, where policies and practices support humanity. Wellness, care, and love are not means to an end but the principles we should abide by in schools everywhere.
