🌍 I am an interdisciplinary researcher with over twelve years of international experience spanning leading research centres and collaborative projects across seven countries and institutions. My expertise encompasses marine and coastal management, environmental justice, vulnerability and adaptation to climate risks, water quality, nature planning in cities, and urban sustainability, all within the context of human-environmental interactions in socio-ecological systems. I am passionate about initiatives that catalyze transformative change towards sustainability. My goal as a scientist is to pursue research that contributes to solutions and opportunities to guide transformative change needed for conservation and sustainable development and enhance human well-being, especially for the poor and most vulnerable people and places. We, as scientists, need to find ways to encourage people and provide the tools for them to be agents of positive social and environmental changes in our global society.Short CV: As a postdoctoral researcher at the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3), I lead transdisciplinary research initiatives in collaboration with international partners, focusing on diverse nature values and fostering transformative change towards sustainability - BridgingVALUES project (https://www.bridging-values.com). 🌱 Proud to be a Fellow of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), I contribute to the Transformative Change Assessment, a global science-policy endeavour. 🎓 My academic journey began with the prestigious Erasmus Mundus fellowship, a European Master in Ecohydrology and PhD fellowship in Marine and Coastal Management. My doctoral research focused on socio-environmental vulnerability and adaptation to floods in the urban Amazon Delta. 🌿 I furthered my research as a postdoctoral researcher at iDiv-Germany, contributing to global efforts to map urban growth's impacts on biodiversity and human well-being and pathways for nature in cities. I also undertook a postdoc position at the University of Georgia, USA, within the Network for Engineering with Nature (NEWN). Here, my research centered on the centred of Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) to address social equity and achieve sustainable development goals.🏙️ Collaborating in the IMAGINE Adaptation project, I contribute to research on monitoring and evaluating climate adaptation in cities, aligning with my dedication to advancing sustainable urban development.
