André Teoman, born in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, in 1989, completed his design education in his hometown. His upbringing, split between Viana do Castelo and Istanbul, alongside his involvement in puppetry and theater, fueled his passion for fantasy.In 2012, Teoman moved to Oporto, collaborating with various design brands such as Boca do Lobo, Koket and Brabbu to develop and prototype furniture lines. He contributed to pieces like the Newton Dining Table, Piccadilly Cabinet, and the Hypnotic Chandelier, which gained recognition in the industry by being selected as one of the the Young Designers in 2014 by the Light + Building Messe Frankfurt Fair.Teoman values preserving traditional craftsmanship while integrating contemporary techniques globally. He rejects conventional design ideologies, preferring to infuse his work with humor and charm, rather than imposing moral ideals.His creations prioritize emotion, inviting viewers to engage with each piece. His work as been seen in various venues such as Isaloni at Salone Satellite, Tent London, Tendence at Messe Frankfurt, and at iconic spaces like Mint Shop London. He has been collaborating with several Portuguese brands, but also starting it’s international collaborations with Turkey, India and Italy.
