In this role, I am responsible for creating, organizing, and implementing new marketing strategies for the company.I am also responsible for creating new reports in Excel, doing data analysis, and checking various reports daily to measure company performance. Market research, consumer behavior, and making decisions based on large data sets are large parts of my job. Promotional tactics and campaigns are just another area which I am part of. I also analyze Google Analytics for various websites and make decisions on changing what we are doing to get both higher quantity and higher quality leads. I work with various agencies to help us be the best we can be. In addition, I manage our various social media pages and our e-mail marketing efforts. I work in the car buying department, managing our sales team.

I worked along side the scale manager where we weigh in customers’ junk cars and scrap metal. We then price their items based on how valuable the commodity is, weigh out their empty truck, and print the receipt so the cashiers to pay them for their scrap. In this position you have to communicate over a radio system as we need to give and receive certain information with other employees. Through this I have also entered new and existing customers into the computer system based on VIN numbers.In this job I worked as a cashier in which I took the printed receipts and paid the customers accordingly. Through this you learn how to communicate with a variety of customers and further your connections of people coming in and out of the business.Through this experience I also used the software, “Scrapware” which taught me how to make transactions, fix previous mistakes and errors, and many other abilities for improvement in the company.I also did data entry where I updated Excel spreadsheets by looking up Hollander numbers for vehicles through a database and bringing the needed information to the spreadsheet.I also found how long it takes to get from specific scrap yards to certain auction houses and recorded that data.In addition, I worked in the picking station, where we are responsible for hand-sorting various types of metals such as coppers and steel on a fast moving belt, while also throwing out the garbage.I also learned how to operate a forklift in which I transported baskets and skids of scrap metal from one location to another. I lastly, participated in 2x weekly auctions, in which I would try to buy as many cars of a certain criteria for the least amount of money that I possibly can. I would then fill out a report of every car in the auction, detailing if I bought it or not, and if so, for how much, followed by how much we saved or lost on this car, as well as a cumulative balance on this which would be summed at the end of the auction.
