My current work focuses on the economics and politics of water management in the American West. I pay particular attention to how institutions (rules, norms, and regulation) are agreed upon and subsequently influence human behavior and resource conditions in river basins. I frequently make use of applied econometric techniques in my work.I hold a PhD in Economics and Environmental Science, jointly offered by the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management and the Department of Economics at UC, Santa Barbara.
