Responsible for network design specifications for various projects relating to Verizon's digital media offerings. This includes firewall, VLAN and routing design. Primarily dealt with Juniper SRX series firewalls, Juniper MX series routers and Arista modular switches. Additionally responsible for all network infrastructure for the Verizon digital medial integration lab including scripted automation for regular lab changes. Scripts written in Ruby and Perl for daily firewall policy changes, daily VLAN changes and daily port assignment changes.

Responsible for various security projects and activities including:- complete development of MAC and IP address correlation tool for real-time IP ownership resolution- Tool development for security assessment and auditing. These tools were mostly Perl scripts for parsing various network configs and reporting on security issues- Development of Access Control List version control database for tracking changes to several thousand router based ACLs. System was written in Java utilizing Spring MVC, Hibernate, MySQL and a custom written RCS back-end- Co-development of automated self-service VPN profile tool. The tool allowed system administrators to permit or deny VPN traffic to their systems. The tool also allowed system administrators to easily add and remove users from a given VPN profile. All changes were committed to a local database and then pushed automatically to the VPN infrastructure (Juniper UAC).- Responsible for security review of network and application architecture for Verizon Digital Media Services- Assisted with writing and reviewing company security policy- Lead team responsible for providing segmented VPN access to various secure areas of the Verizon network. VPN implemented with Juniper UAC using IC-4500s and SSG-140s.- Lead team responsible for reviewing and approving firewall change requests

- Responsible for troubleshooting network problems including circuitissues and EIGRP routing- Responsible for working with carriers to resolve Fractional T1, T1,and DS3 problems- Placed in the Premier support team dedicated to working high profilecustomer issues

Responsible for overall network design, management and operation of the Young Life service center network and remote office networks. This included management of Cisco VPN for employee and remote site access. Projects completed during employment included:- Redesigned network, including logical subnet readdressing and deployment of OSPF across the enterprise- Designed and deployed Network Management System (NMS) utilizing OpenNMS and PostGreSQL- Designed and deployed Intrusion Detection System utilizing Snort and ACID on Gentoo Linux- Deployed Cisco Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) for outbuilding network access for several remote offices. Network access utilized existing cable plant for high speed network access back to the office for back-haul to the service center.

Worked in the network operation center for the MCI/WorldCom Internal Data Network. Responsible for triaging and troubleshooting network trouble tickets including issues with BGP, OSPF, spanning-tree, data center switch fabrics and transport circuits. Also responsible for creating and maintaining various network maintanence and operational Perl scripts.
