Systems SEPP Engineering Intern on the Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) team for Collins Aerospace Mission Systems. Worked on implementing low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite messages into existing tightly coupled Kalman filters for general PNT product line improvement. LEO satellites can offer signals over 1000 times stronger than traditional GPS satellites, significantly boosting the reliability of PNT data in dense urban areas and against adversaries using jamming technologies.During my internship, I developed an offline simulation for low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites to replicate real-time position, navigation, and timing (PNT) data. Additionally, I created a batched least squares solver to process raw data from LEO satellites and estimate receiver positions. These efforts were aimed at modeling LEO satellite pseudo-range and doppler (or pseudo-range rate) errors for integration into our existing navigation Kalman filter. We presented our results at the SEPP project fair showcasing the future of LEO PNT at Collins Aerospace. SEPP is a highly prestigious student program at Collins Aerospace for high-achieving students (upper-class standing with a GPA greater than 3.75), offering the opportunity to work in small teams on innovative projects over the summer.

Worked alongside leading professionals on active vibration control and advanced sensing technologies for commercial and military aircraft for approximately 45 weeks full-time.During my co-op, I executed several large-scale data processing projects that had a direct impact on our customers. I analyzed extensive flight test data to quantify vibration profiles for a prominent military rotorcraft. My findings indicated potential for future innovations and enhancements in our vibration control technologies for upcoming aircraft models. I also developed, executed, and documented various test procedures, including testing novel actuator braking capabilities, upgrading vibration-inducing test stands, and evaluating linear resonant noise actuators.While here, I gained hands-on experience in modal and harmonic response analysis through both in-lab testing and basic modeling. Utilized analytical tools such as Ansys and MATLAB to support empirical analysis and refine our understanding of vibration control in complex environments. Worked on products for vibration control in rotary-wing aircraft and noise control in fixed-wing aircraft.
