Leading Elastacloud’s data science team, mentoring and providing training to promote best practice across the team in technical, project management and commercial aspects. Working closely with customers to provide recommendations for data science solutions to their problems and turning these into projects. • Developed and productionised machine learning models to provide automated forecasts of operating costs of electricity generation for a large generator in the energy sector. Worked closely with subject matter experts to develop and refine models in production to provide continuous improvement in model accuracy to reflect the changing landscape of the sector.• Led the team to build an end-to-end extraction tool to process technical engineering drawings for a large customer in the energy industry. The tool uses computer vision models and NLP techniques to automate a previous manual process, reducing the required hours of manual effort by over 95%.• Developed and productionised an NLP multiclass text classification model for a customer in the rail industry. The model was built as part of a human-in-the-loop solution that assists engineers in making assessments of train maintenance reports, freeing up hours of their time to focus on more important, high-value tasks.

• Working in a small team of data scientists on cross-disciplinary projects then going on to lead projects once I displayed the initiative and leadership qualities.• Identifying and applying the appropriate statistical and machine learning techniques dependent on the needs of the project and customer• Development of an NLP machine learning service, including classification and word2vec models for a company in the data governance industry• Communicating results to team members and customers via discussion and visual presentation.• Worked on cross-industry projects, giving me exposure to many different data science use-cases and developing an understanding of how to successfully deliver data science projects under Agile methodology.

Carried out research in Geotechnics and Hydrogeology towards completing my PhD. My research was focussed on the effects of climate change on the subsurface hydrology of a man-made slope, using finite element analysis.
