I was also the trusted advisor to the CFO for the outsourced IT in North America from 2006 when spending reached more than $7m per year based on outdated technology compared to Europe. Our spend was €2.8m per year hosting cutting edge technology and served three times more staff. Internal clients globally peaked in 2017 at around 6000 employees with M&A and projects awarded. After a year I became responsible for the computer department and became the manager, recruited an extra programmer, instigated computer procedures and then later transferred them to ISO9001. I terminated the shift system, cut the monthend procedures from 6hrs to 2hrs. Bringing Hi-tec up to date as far as technology has proven to be more difficult. Increasing its PC usage from 3 to 25 over the past three years and attaching them to the ethernet around the building, justifying the expenditure for product development to have a colour scanner, cancelling the hardware maintenance contract and adopting a new for old scheme, expansion of the main system and replacing it with a cheaper new model, moving and installing disaster recovery procedures which is updated every night, identifying faults with PC’s and building new ones, desktop publishing in the marketing department, file transfer and communications between subsidiaries including email. Taken on to support IT technical support on all Daton products for MoD, NHS and local government around main stream operating systems and application but also around there own in house software written in Progress 4GL.

My main responsibility was to support and maintain several software and hardware systems for the company including their clients. I successfully installed and maintained a XENIX machine in Stevenage visiting once a week for support, while also working on my PC in London from Stevenage repatching the lease line.

Supporting a property register system on a MicroVAX II for subscribing London estate agents and the implementation and support of lease lines to Wyse or Dec terminals via case modems and multiplexors. This company was the prequel to Team Estate Agents and were far ahead of their time.

Starting as a trainee in a 5 man operation I gained experience on how to: provide programming and consultancy support services to clients, resolve implementation queries, perform system design and implement a wide variety of applications tailored to meet specific requirements of customers. We were also an IT dealership so I attained great insights into IT equipment. I worked on contracts onsite for RAC, British Alcan and Drax power station.
