Commercial and editorial responsibility for the content slate, working in close partnership with production teams for Sky original commissions and managing relationships with Sky Vision group production companies, as well as additional responsibilities for growing third-party relationships within the UK and targeted global markets with first look, development and output deals.

My primary role is to acquire commercially attractive and internationally appealing Factual content, leading negotiations with producers and commercial representatives from the indie sector and BBC in-house productions, co-managing a slate of roughly 350 hours of programming per year. My success stories in the role include the acquisitions of Secret Life of Dogs (Oxford Scientific Films for ITV), which has currently grossed 7.5 times its investment and sold to 40 territories, and Dispatches: Hunted (Blakeway for Channel 4) which was sold to HBO in the USA.

As part of the Acquisitions department within the Content division, I lead negotiations with the BBC Commercial Agency and independent producers to acquire factual content for commercial distribution purposes, as well as co-ordinate offers on behalf of other business areas such as Consumer Products, BBC Active, BBC Earth, BBC Books and BBC's portfolio of Global Channels. Titles worked on include long running BBC strands such as Horizon, Natural World and Panorama, landmark series such as Africa and Penguin: Spy in the Huddle, global family entertainment brand Deadly 60 and live event programming such The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

I was responsible for acquiring distribution rights to non-scripted programming from third party producers, as well as managing the slate for in-house productions from ITV Studios (UK, America and Australia), Shiver and 12 Yard Productions. I worked with key ITV Studios shows such as Come Dine With Me, Dancing on Ice and I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here.
