I am creative and unique. My name is Andrew Caldera and I have always been known as someone who wants to find a new way to get something done. I have worked at an ice cream shop the last 4 summers and after being there for 4 years I realized that putting nuts underneath the whipped cream saves way more time and does not ruin the whipped cream on top. After telling my coworkers, we have been able to work more efficient then ever. Although it is just an ice cream shop, my creativity trait will carry into my professional and academic career. I am currently studying as an International Business major at Fairfield University and loving everything I am learning. Why International Business? I love knowing how different countries operate in the business world. In 2022, I directed and coordinated a clothing and food drive for The Gambia, we raised thousands of pounds of clothes and books. Doing this meant communicating with businesses and town halls. We were doing great until we weren’t. We failed. The shipping company and our group could not agree on a fair price to send overseas. After months of delay, we found a Haitian Church taking goods to Haiti and we were in, even though it went to a different country than intended. We failed successfully. Being able to work within different countries brings me happiness that most jobs couldn’t deliver.
