• Led the flagship project in 2017 to replatform Andertons' ecommerce website onto IBM's Websphere Commerce on Cloud platform. • Subsequently managed the digital & cultural transformation surrounding the replatform including achieving internal adoption of enterprise-grade ecommerce technology; growth of head count from 8 to 20 people; building internal web development capability by mentoring a small team of junior developers; and implementation of supplier management processes and governance needed to manage a more complex stack.• Delivered Andertons Extra: an ambitious project which monetised Andertons' strategic advantages in brand marketing and video. Extra is bespoke loyalty platform and subscription service which combines best-of-breed SaaS/PaaS with the existing ecommerce platform to give subscribers exclusive video content and other benefits in our online store. I designed architecture, managed product strategy, guided the web development team and executed our go-to-market plan. The service is unique within the niche and will provide a brand new income stream to the business.• Kicked off Andertons’ headless commerce and Cloud adoption strategies, setting up the "decoupling" project designed to reduce the cost/risk of technology change by breaking down monolithic architecture and leveraging cloud scalability. Prepared the team to build an isomorphic PWA storefront in React integrated with HCL Commerce via an API Management layer, all deployed using Docker/K8s on Google Cloud Platform.• Owned the ecommerce P&L throughout, managing budget, overseeing day to day marketing activities, and delivering infrastructure and culture change including hybrid working, catalysed by the global pandemic, and a brand new office space to accommodate growth of the team up to 35 people. • Annual revenue in 2021 was around 65x what it was when I started in 2009.

Maintaining an overall responsibility for the success of the e-commerce operation, my primary goal during this period was to guide our teams to evolve the technology underlying Andertons' online retail operation by working as a product owner for several key projects.Working with third party technology providers, consultants and integrators, as well as our internal team (a web developer, a projects assistant, and the digital content marketing team), we managed to deliver a website migration from a .ASP to a .NET codebase, a responsive site redesign, wholesale content improvements which brought SEO, PPC marketing and user experience benefits, a job board microsite, a beta site for Andertons.TV and many other minor enhancements and fixes.I used this tenure to begin to establish agile working practices & tooling that allowed the team to iteratively work on projects that would previously have been treated as large pieces of work with unattainable goals. Finally, I also worked closely with senior stakeholders in Andertons to ensure that the digital team would be given the resources needed to follow an ambitious e-commerce and digital content strategy that spans the next five years.

Established as a member of the ecommerce team in a digital content management role. I wrote vast amounts of product copy to underpin Andertons' SEO strategy which was to write unique, substantial, valuable product content, and be first to publish content for new product releases.Alongside this, I worked on early digital marketing campaigns in Adwords, Google Shopping, retargeted advertising and affiliate marketing. I also contributed promotional copy, banner graphics and recorded and edited a lot of Andertons' early video content which provided the foundation for Andertons TV as it is today.My background in HTML, CSS, Javascript and web design meant I was able to write and deploy simple solutions to fill feature gaps in the CMS, and work with third party technology providers to enable the content team to better-promote product and promotional content on the e-commerce site.
