Hired to compile and complete a compliant “Feasibility Study” for an open pit gold project in Northern Ontario. Remained on the team to support Applications, community and related Permitting work. • Delivered Feasibility Study for ‘Magino’ gold mining project, on time, under budget. • Ensured compliance and reliability of the NI 43 101 report, which supported construction decision.• Negotiated and acquired the necessary remaining Land Purchases for surface rights to key infrastructure.• Developed presentations to Board level, coordinated site visits for investors, Board, VIPs, displaying the Project in a highly positive light. • Aided the Authorization and Approval process, further supported the dialogue with Indigenous groups and communities, allowing the Project to proceed. • Generated 3D graphics to clarify mining scenarios and ore management, reducing perception of Project risk

Recruited to complete Feasibility Studies, assist with management of key construction contracts, teambuilding, de-risking for this large gold project. Remained with company to support tailings dam construction, Corporate Development, benchmarking, NI 43-101 documents. Co-responsible for reserves, strategic studies, NI 43-101, ‘Risk Registry’, etc.• Supported and directed the mine start up, while introducing effective production control and reporting tools.• Stabilized and de-bugged open pit mining operations and Tailings Dam construction during ‘ramp up’.• Legally responsible for numerous annual tailings dam construction programs (with approximately 250 contractors).• Introduced ‘Fleet Management System”, GEMS/Surpac mining software, benchmarking database. • Identified savings on Tailings costs. Introduced CAT D11Ts and ‘Sleipner’. • Championed the economic construction of rock-fill dams by ‘direct placement’, without costly re-handle.• Added mining capacity by ‘AFEs’ for mining equipment with justification, pay-back etc. • Participated in First Nations contact groups, clearly communicating technical matters to non-technical people.• Facilitated Mine Closure planning strategy and communication.

Coordinated and helped set up the necessary infrastructure, obtained initial crushing and construction equipment, managed various consultants, prepared budgets, overall project economic evaluations etc.

Assisting with Technical issues at several open pit mines in Africa, Australasia and North America. Assisted with budgets & capital planning, long term plans, operational readiness at new and challenging mines etc.

A key member of the team which took the project from exploration stage to commercial operations. Responsible for mine designs, economical evaluations, optimizing the layout of basic infrastructure, budgets, AFEs, running & building the engineering dept. Also responsible for Tailings Management. This project was a major success and a great contributor to the economy of Suriname.

Was brought in to help the Mining team manage some steep production increases, assisted with mine/mill communications and management of difficult ore types (including very high grade skarn and lower grade porphyry copper & gold), dewatering program, long and short term planning etc. This project was located in an area of 11 metres annual rainfall.

Worked for Cambior which was acquired by Iamgold. Was responsible for short and long term mine planning, production control. Drill & Blast improvement, dilution management, site water balance, annual budgets etc. Was a key part of return to normal operations and permitting, establishment & construction management of new Tailings dam.

Responsibities included: short term planning, Drill & Blast, manufacturing of explosives, technical assistance to Senior Management, truck dispatch system etc etc.

This position entailed project work, evaluating numerous African mines and training Engineers and Geologists in the use of technical software. Insights picked up from the field were used to improve system functionality. Other duties included marketing the products and supporting advanced projects.

Main responsibilities included short term planning and projects, followed by production responsibility for a section of the open pit. Was a key part of the team which successfully introduced 'trolley assit' haulage to reduce fuel consumption and mining op-ex.
