I have always had a strong interest in international business. This drove my early interest in both economics and languages at school and university. I have been fortunate to spend the majority of my career in investment management in the UK and Australia including time spent managing teams and delivering projects in many countries including the Netherlands, Italy, USA, Hong Kong, Singapore and New Zealand.Over the last few years I've completed several assignments as an independent consultant focusing on investment management, strategy and M&A, including strategy work with Suncorp, Perpetual and NSW TCorp and M&A projects with CBA (the sale of CommInsure to AIA) and Perpetual (the acquisitions of Trillium and Barrow Hanley in the US).My most recent permanently role was Global Head of Strategy, Projects and Operations at Colonial First State Global Asset Management (now First Sentier Investors) where I was part of the executive team during a period of strong growth globally while working to deliver improved systems and processes to with limited increase in costs.Previous roles included with Macquarie Group (Australia) and BlackRock (UK), where I originally joined Mercury Asset Management and experienced the acquisition by Merrill Lynch and then the eventual sale to BlackRock. My early career was spent at NatWest Strategy Group, Mars Group (UK & France) and SAAB (Finland).I am currently Treasurer of Barker College Football Club and have also assisted as a committee member for Northbridge FC and the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA).
