Current• Have held a series of progressively more responsible positions in the Securitization Group since 2005; currently a senior member of the group who is responsible for covering a number of core clients. • Responsibilities include providing advice to and securing new mandates from clients, and leading the deal teams responsible for executing those mandates. • Worked closely with CIBC Treasury in the development and execution of a number of different secured funding programs for the parent bank.• Responsible for the credit analysis, structuring and purchase by CIBC of securitized products.• Experienced in structuring transactions involving a number of different assets classes including commercial and residential mortgages, credit cards, automotive and equipment finance.• Work and am familiar with a number of different product areas in capital markets including derivatives, fixed income sales and trading, repos, money markets and corporate banking. • Frequent speaker at conferences and client town halls on a variety of securitization topics. • Actively involved in and spearheaded a number of restructuring initiatives, most notably changes to the business that occurred following the economic downturn in late 2007.• Involved in reviewing and commenting on a number of new regulations and in the development of processes to comply with new regulations. This includes new securities laws impacting securitized products and the new capital and liquidity requirements in Basel II and III. • Member of Canadian Bankers’ Association working group that provided input to the Department of Finance as part of the development of new Covered Bond legislation. • Involved in the recruiting/hiring of new team members as well as the mentoring and review of junior staff.
