Courses Taught: College Writing II

I collaborate 1:1 with faculty and program leadership to manage the development and delivery of online courses for graduate degree programs. I coach a team of Course Developers and carry my own course load across multiple programs and verticals as well as lead a cross-functional team charged with directing the product development roadmap for our Content Management System.

As a Course Developer II, I led course development at the program-level for a major university during the critical launch period. To do this, I collaborated with faculty, program leadership, and with internals teams in Program Management and Tech Development to create custom learning tools and develop processes to meet curricular needs and technological challenges. I spent around 5% of any given week mentoring and training new hires through simulations, 1:1 professional development, and workshops.

As a Course Developer at 2U, I work directly with faculty members across different universities and verticals to plan and execute the production of courses for online masters programs. To date, I have guided 40+ courses from strategy to launch. My role mixes project management, relationship management, instructional design, and curriculum development skills, and I possess a comprehensive understanding of the suite of software and tools we use to build courses in our digital campus.

Internally referred to as a Second Language Acquisitions Specialist, I developed instructional content for several different language learning products designed for English speakers. This required me to collaborate one-one-one with Subject Matter Experts to write linguistic and cultural notes, glossaries, and activity questions. I owned over 60 course timelines simultaneously and successfully delivered more than 140 video-based courses in six languages (Swahili, Afaan Oromo, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and Yoruba) and more than 90 high-stakes test items in Sudanese Arabic. I also wrote nearly 100 test items in a dozen different languages at all levels of the Interagency Language Roundtable scale.

As a Fulbright fellow, I developed and taught a curriculum of English as a Foreign Language to four different grade levels at a Slovak high school, Stredná priemyselná škola Svidník. I also delivered an extracurricular lecture series on American culture and history and helped to organize class field trips around Slovakia and Poland.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I taught 11 courses over 3 years of 100 and 200 level composition courses. I also taught three sections of Introduction to Creative Writing. For some of these courses, I developed curriculum and readings targeted toward animal science and agriculture majors.

I taught coursework in Media Production & Creative Writing to a small group of high school juniors and seniors in a traveling semester program.

I ran sound and lights for stage productions and reading series and helped construct and maintain the sets in the historic Folger Theatre.
