CurrentMy roles and responsibilities as a Firefighter I include:• routine training in wildland, rural, and structural fire suppression tactics and strategies• Must meet the expectation to exercise good judgment in hazardous fire suppression activity while working safely with others• Maintained cleanliness of the fire station and fire apparatus and completed equipment check outs to ensure all tools such as extrication tools, wildland tools, hoses, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), and medications for EMS emergencies were in service to the unit standard.• Was responsible for learning and training on my roles and responsibilities for numerous emergency situations that we respond to as an all-risk department• Conducted daily physical training to maintain an adequate level of operational readiness• Trained on EMS scenarios in addition to the variety of tools carried on the fire apparatus, when to use them, and what tactics to choose when operating those tools and provided patient care for 911 EMS patients.• Learned the response area of my station as well as the other stations I may cover at as well with the corresponding radio channels, tones, and tactical channels that each response area utilizes for communications• exercise good judgment when involved in fire suppression activities utilizing the appropriate strategy and tactics when operating as the hose operator
