I have spent the last 28 years designing innovative components for a wide variety of optical systems. After graduating with a degree in Laser Physics I worked for Thorn EMI Electronics developing miniature laser range finders for missiles. It was the need to develop compact optical systems for harsh environments that lead to me specialising in novel optical systems. My experience in designing unusual plastic optical components made the move to Carclo Technical Plastics a natural career progression where I was Head of Design and Development for 8 years. Now the Optical Design Manager for Polymer Optics I have extensive experience designing a wide range of plastic optical components.
