Project: Unlocking the Potential of C-C Bond Forming Enzymes for BiocatalysisCurrently working on the synthesis of substrates for Diels-Alderase enzymes to explore their potential as biocatalysts.

BBSRC-funded PhD in the group of Professor Chris Willis at the University of Bristol. PhD project interrogated key enzymatic steps in the biosynthesis of spirotetronate polyketides. Work focussed on the synthesis of putative biosynthetic intermediates and the application of these compounds as probes of biosynthetic enzyme function.

Worked within the research group on the synthesis of the asymmetric hydroformylation ligand bobphos. Successfully completed the multi-step synthesis to prepare 10 g of product for sale toan external customer. Work funded by a University of St Andrews impact grant.

Completed a 10 week medicinal chemistry project in Professor Liskamp's lab at the University of Glasgow. The work focused on developing a synthesis of synthetic nucleotides for use in antisense molecules.
