Andy maintains a broad-based practice representing a diverse range of companies and individuals at the trial and appellate levels in government disputes, complex business litigation and securities-related class actions. Andy is also called upon to conduct internal investigations for companies, nonprofit organizations, individuals and foreign governments in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Previously, he served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, where he investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of federal crimes, tried cases before judges and juries, and briefed and argued appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals. Andy served as a law clerk for Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist, and Judge Michael S. Kanne of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Represented an audit firm in arbitration arising out of a multibillion dollar fraud executed by a healthcare company’s executives.Represented a global pharmaceutical company in trial relating to a generic drug manufacturer’s challenge to the validity of the pharmaceutical company’s patent. Represented a multinational technology corporation in patent litigation relating to networked storage systems, computer peripheral devices, printers, and other electronic data systems. Represented an energy-related company in briefing before the Supreme Court of the United States.Represented an energy development company in trade secrets litigation. Represented a consulting firm in litigation arising out of an engagement to select and implement computer software. Represented the world's leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment in trial and appellate proceedings arising out of a dispute with former employees. Represented an industry leading trade association as amicus curiae in appellate proceedings relating to the redemption of a customer loyalty program’s proofs of purchase. Represented a physician in connection with anti-kickback and Medicare fraud charges.
