Former big law attorney turned successful entrepreneur, passionate about using my experience to help early-stage companies and founders solve their most difficult problems and scale their businesses smartly and efficiently.I started my career as a corporate associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis, where I gained substantial experience leading internal and external teams of some of the most sophisticated clients and advisors in the world through incredibly complex transactions and bet-the-company matters.As a result of receiving high-marks early on for my performance, I was one of four attorneys chosen to help launch Kirkland's Houston office, which gave me a glimpse into early-stage company life. And I've been hooked ever since.Using my experience and track record from Kirkland, I took a leap of faith and joined consumer tech startup Anova Culinary as one of its initial founding members. I wore many different hats and had a hand in everything from new product development, to recruiting and equity grants, demand planning and operations, fund raising, negotiating key supplier and distributor relationships and most notably leading the company through its initial formation and our acquisition of digital marketing firm Get Fresh for $9.2 million and playing a significant role in our eventual sale to the Electrolux Group for $250 million. I've since combined my startup and deal experience with my passion for investing to acquire, develop and successfully exit multiple real estate projects in the Houston area. And I've been fortunate enough along the way to be able to continue working with small businesses and founders to help them overcome obstacles and grow their brand. When not advising a company or looking for my next real estate deal, you'll usually find me trying to break a new exercise personal best, playing guitar way too loud or watching bad TV shows on the couch with my wife Allison and our two pugs, Max and Dennis.
