I am an architect. I am a designer. I am a mentor. I am a director of RHP.I am passionate about promoting collaborative design. Good design creates environments that enhance the lives of those that live and work in them.My focus in the last few years has been exploring through project work and research the creation of buildings and spaces for communal living and working. Including student housing, co-living, workplace design, co-working, hotels and co-housing for different age groups. I am the practice lead for Student Housing and Interior Design and Cambridge ‘Workplace Design’ Lead.I have worked across a wide range of sectors over the last 20 years - including education, workplace design, housing and the arts, with a portfolio of work including masterplanning, refurbishment and new build. I have also won three RIBA Awards for the refurbishment and reinvention of iconic listed 1960's concrete brutalist buildings.In addition to the range of hands-on project work, I'm actively involved in the wider built environment community. I am currently a member of the Greater Cambridge Design Review Panel and former member of the Peterborough City Council Design Review Panel, South Cambs Design Review Panel and Cambridge City ‘Design and Conservation Panel’ and I'm a frequent Civic Trust Awards regional assessor. In addition to helping to create the RHP in-house mentoring programme and working with our Part 1&2 students and apprentices I’ve been an RIBA student mentor for the University of Cambridge (UoC) since 2017, and UoC PSA since 2021.
