Building awareness of the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities, and the need for increased investment in adaptation and resilience.

In July 2020 I was promoted to a more senior position, in acknowledgement of my increased responsibilities.

My primary responsibilities included managing external communications through the organisation’s website and social media platforms, liaising with our country teams to gather unique content, and building relationships with external stakeholders. I also worked closely with my counterparts based at our global headquarters in Oregon, USA.Other responsibilities included planning and executing online campaigns, preparing monthly and quarterly stats reports, design work for digital and print, video editing, and representing Mercy Corps at public events.

A freelance writer and occasional photographer, covering travel, retail, advice, events and comedy. Past clients include The Guardian, Ellis Brigham, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Skier & Snowboarder Magazine, Snowsport Scotland, Boardsports Source Magazine, Snow Magazine, Ski + Board Magazine, Nidecker, Chortle, Square Mile Magazine, Dopezine.

After the closure of the print magazine, our team shifted our focus to whitelines.com and grew it into the world’s largest website in its category. On top of my regular duties I was also the Project Manager for the annual Whitelines Buyer's Guide. Responsibilities included organising the delivery of 500 products, managing a 10-day photoshoot, writing and editing over 500,000 words of reviews, and ensuring all content was optimised for search.

I accepted a permanent role as Associate Editor of Whitelines, with expanded duties including travel writing and photography, planning and supervising events, managing social media channels (750,000+ combined audience), reporting from trade shows and pitching commercial projects to household name consumer brands.

When the website responsibilities were assigned to a permanent member of the Factory Media team, my focus shifted to writing articles (interviews, features, comment) for the Whitelines print magazine.

As a freelance contributor I created daily news content for whitelines.com

I joined Reed as part of their highly competitive Graduate Scheme. My first 12-month placement was with the Contracts team, where I filled temporary vacancies for Lloyds Banking Group. Duties included sourcing and interviewing suitable candidates, and completing all necessary due diligence required for work in the financial sector.My second placement was with the Social Care department, primarily vetting temporary care workers for a contract with Edinburgh City Council. This role also required Business Development, and sourcing managerial-level candidates for permanent positions.In 2013 I was accepted to the Reed Management Academy, but chose not to complete the process after being offered a permanent role with Factory Media.
