Business Change Lead & Report DeveloperIn this role I was asked to review the Annex A, CIN Census and the SSDA903 returns; from my analysis in agreement with the Senior Management Team, I re-wrote the 3 groups of reports in preparation for the imminent Ofsted inspection and the yearly statutory return deadlines. I also wrote an Open Cases report that successfully produced an accurate count of all open cases that were individually identified by their case status i.e., CIC, CP, CIN etc. I am currently rewriting other reports, that the regular use of the Annex A list reports for performance monitoring does not cover i.e., visits in time, reviews in time etc.Mosaic Repair and Improvement Project LeadA review of the current Mosaic Case Management System determined that it did not effectively meet the needs of both the end user or the performance reporting needs of the Children’s Social Care department. Based on a report produced, I am leading a team to implement a range of agreed remedies which require a combination of streamlining of workflows, form amendments and form to form mapping. I lead a development group that has membership of staff from various teams that mirror the journey of the child, the Principal Social Worker and the Performance Manager. Decisions from this group were taken by me to the Change Board for agreement if no further concerns are identified. I then work with the system developers and the Information Technology Team to implement agreed changes and I amend existing reports that any such change may affect.

In this role I am tasked with the responsibility of determining the structure of an existing database to develop and produce Schema Documentation, Entity Relationship Diagrams and a Data Dictionary for the eventual purpose of the creation of a separate new data warehouse. This is being carried out through the use SQL queries and SSRS interrogation; in conjunction with the interrogation of a Synergy Case Management system.

 Blue Badge Transition Project – The National online Blue Badge information System is due to end February 2019 and be replaced with an alternative online system that will offer reduced functionality and a reduced dataset. Through a business analysis process, I have determined a number a number of options to be progressed to ensure the Borough of Poole Blue Badge Service Users do not suffer any detrimental effect as a result of the change. I have been appointed the project manager to progress the selected option.  Dorset Care Records – The Dorset Care Record is an electronic record linking health and social care information from Dorset General Practices (doctors’ surgeries) to improve care in Dorset. I designed and produced the script through the use of SQL and SSRS, required to configure the Borough of Poole’s Enterprise-Wide-Master Patient Index file and also created the delta script that will be responsible for the generation of data that will be uploaded daily to the Dorset Care Record when there is a change in a client’s record. I was responsible for the mapping of data and with partners from Health, other Local Authorities and the contracted provider ensuring the eventual information displayed will meet the required goals of the Dorset Care Record. I carried out both unit and functional testing of the script.  In response to the findings of the 2017 Ofsted inspection, the Borough of Poole produced an implementation plan in response. As a part of that plan I have been tasked with the creation of a set of report that enable the Borough to track the progress of Looked After Children with the aim of achieving permanency; along with the creation of a suite of tracker reports that will enable individual staff members of Social Care teams meet such statutory requirements as reviews, visits etc.

The new core data set was signed off by the Director Children Social Care in May 2016 and this led to more informative reporting. In conjunction with the Management Information Team, lead the introduction of a new performance reporting framework for Children Social Care with the provision of additional monthly reporting; all reports were created in a new reporting format. The main change was the introduction of reports that were automated and displayed performance and management information graphically. Responsible for the testing of the automated Key Performance Indicators; to ensure they provided an accurate and clear picture of the services being delivered; to assure both strategic and operational decisions were based on information that was an accurate reflection of the services being provided to Looked After children.
